![]() Getting back to the candidates jockeying for position. The rest will back DeSantis mostly because he has a lot of the same qualities as Trump. If Trump drops out, most of his supporters will likely back whoever he tells them to support. The only thing keeping him back is Trump’s stranglehold on the party. The one outlier who could win without Trump’s endorsement-as long as he drops out of the race–would be Ron DeSantis.Įvangelicals are flocking to DeSantis because they like what he’s doing in Florida. Whoever gets Trump’s endorsement has a good shot of getting the Republican nomination. Nothing would please the other candidates more than getting the backing of the man who’s holding their party hostage. Him aside, Trump is probably going to quietly contact the other candidates to cut a deal: In exchange for a pardon, he will drop out and back their campaign. Mike Pence recently announced he would not pardon Trump if he becomes president so there’s that. They join a growing field of Republican candidates who know they have no hope of beating Trump or Ron DeSantis for the nomination but are positioning themselves to be DeSantis’ Vice President or in his cabinet.Īs a reminder, ALL of the Republican candidates have the exact same views and political positions. Trump’s former Vice President Mike Pence and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie both entered the race for the Republican Nomination for 2024 on June 8. I hope that’s proven untrue personally though. A bit of speculation that is pretty likely is Trump gave a handful of people copies of some of the classified documents he had with explicit instructions if he is “wrongfully” convicted. The fact that he took classified documents with him to Florida makes it clear he knew the long arm of the law would catch him eventually and he wanted some leverage he could use. Trump had access to that information as president. What would be worse than disclosing our own intellience network to a hostile government? Sharing information we have about other countries’ intelligence networks. Intelligence community under the bus in Helsinki in front of the world as Putin quietly smiled next to him. We all remember when Trump basically threw the entire U.S. Trump was pretty open about the fact he hates the idea of using spies when he first got into office. What’s potentially worse is Trump offering to share sources and methods with Russia in exchange for assylum. Trump already proved with 1/6 he is willing to destroy the country if he doesn’t get is way. If you thought the Debt Ceiling drama in Congress was childish, here’s a far more sinister scenario. That is the proverbial nightmare scenario we absolutely cannot afford to risk as everyone knows who would be happy to take him in: Russia’s Vladomir Putin. I can only hope when Trump is arraigned this time, he is required to surrender his passport because he would be a flight risk. It’s a slam dunk case as Trump repeatedly admitted publicly he knew what he was doing and was intentional about it. THIS is the indictment many legal analysts have been waiting for with anticipation as a verdict will likely be reached well before the 2024 election itself. I’ll get into this a bit more a little later. Even worse is the GOP learned during Trump’s time in the White House to use the distraction the media provides to do something provocative somewhere. This is where corporate media’s copability in desensitizing America to things that should matter to them and directly impact them–not this latest media circus to come–really shines the brightest. ![]() Minimum 6 to 8 hours of nothing while anything else–far more newsworthy than the minimum 6 to 8 hours they will commit to Trump’s arraignment coverage–that might be going on in the U.S. You know, hours and hours of cameras looking at nothing while the pundits spin things. If Trump’s arraignment in April in Manhattan is ANY indication, this one will likely be a MUCH bigger media circus. He is scheduled to be booked and arraigned on June 13. The biggest one of course being Donald Trump getting indicted for the second time in two months, this time on FEDERAL charges. These charges, which were unsealed the morning of June 9 are realated to the Classified Documents found at Trump’s residence in Mar-a-Largo.
